The Art and Practice of Managing Digital Media

What is Content Operations and Why Do I Care?

23 June, 14:50 PM BST

You have the choice of two sessions:

Session 1: What is Content Operations and Why Do I Care?

In the delivery pipeline of digital assets, there's a clear path from creation in the appropriate tool – photo or video editing software, to metadata, to delivery through a CMS.

In the delivery pipeline of content assets, the path is not as clear. Content is mostly created in outdated tools – word processing software or spreadsheets, and follows a convoluted path, with many manual detours and workarounds, to finally get copy-and-pasted into a CMS.

Content exists in, around, and between digital assets, and holds the user experience together like glue. It's nuanced, it's messy, and the processes needed for efficient and scalable production are greatly underestimated. Content may be the key to audience comprehension, but it may also be the blocker when an appropriate operating model is not in place.

In a light, interactive roundtable session led by two expert consultants and consulting founders, Rahel Anne Bailie of Content, Seriously Consulting and Kristina Huddart of Huddart Consulting, participants will be introduced to the concepts of content operations, for basic, lite, and advanced efficiencies.

Great event - Provided the opportunity to learn from customer journeys from a variety of organisations from different market segments. We came away with lots of great questions for ourselves which will be useful during our implementation.
