Paul Farey, Director, Asset Advisory

Paul is a Director in AECOM’s Asset Advisory business unit and also works within the Fiscal Incentives service, joining the team in 1997. He is dual qualified in property and tax, with qualifications from both the RICS and Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT). With over thirty years’ experience, he has worked extensively across all commercial sectors in the UK as well as on projects overseas. Working with a variety of clients, his specialisms include Capital Allowances, Land Remediation Relief, HMRC negotiations, Singapore and Malaysia tax depreciation consultancy and VAT. He is a former lead for the Fiscal Incentives team and is currently responsible for leading Growth and Strategy for the specialist services within the Asset Advisory business unit.

Tim Jackson, Director, Head of Fiscal Incentives

Tim is a Chartered Surveyor (FRICS) and qualified Taxation Technician (ATT Fellow) with over thirty years' experience in the UK construction and property industry. Tim is a director in AECOM’s Asset Advisory business and leads the Fiscal Incentives team, which delivers a range of specialist services providing advice on a variety of property tax-based incentives, including: Capital Allowances, Research and Development Expenditure Credits, Tax incentives associated with the remediation of contaminated land, The Construction Industry Scheme and VAT. Tim has worked with owner-occupiers and both small and corporate investors to maximise the benefits arising from their property portfolios and business operations.

Phil Mackintosh, Associate Director, Fiscal Incentives

Phil is an Associate Director in AECOM’s Fiscal Incentives team and has been with the company since 2013. Having worked in the accountancy and property sectors for twenty years, he has a qualification from the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) and is involved in delivering a wide variety of property-related tax advice. His areas of expertise include UK and Irish Capital Allowances, and Land Remediation Relief, and he has worked on numerous and diverse commercial and residential projects for a broad spectrum of clients.

Rima Khera, R&D Lead, Fiscal Incentives

Rima is the R&D Lead for AECOM’s Fiscal Incentives team and has been with the company since 2016. With over seven years’ of experience, she has worked in both industry and consultancy practices, and has prepared R&D tax credit claims for clients across various sectors including construction, information technology, transport, environment and engineering. She is responsible for delivering R&D tax claims under both the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) and Research & Development Expenditure Credit (RDEC) schemes, and also manages in-house training and HMRC enquiries for clients.
