Adam Thompson

Adam has over 25 years’ experience as a chartered surveyor specialising in the primary care sector. He acts for numerous GP practices as well as property developers, investors, banks and pharmacy operators. Much of his time is spent on the development of new medical centres but he also undertakes valuations, rent reviews and investment transactions. Adam formed Primary Care Surveyors in 2009, with the aim of providing a high quality and cost-effective service in this niche market. Adam was previously a director of Colliers CRE (now Colliers International) where he led a team of surveyors dealing with primary care properties throughout the UK and Germany. Prior to that he was a Partner at Vail Williams. Adam’s career started with the Valuation Office (or District Valuers) so he is conversant with primary care property issues from differing perspectives.

Tony Coke

Tony is a chartered surveyor with 17 years’ experience in primary care development.  Tony’s teams have delivered some 30 sets of new premises across the UK, including greater London.  Tony is conversant with all aspects of primary care premises development from the initial project brief right through to achieving Practical Completion on the premises.  Tony’s professional background is in strategic land management, managing agency, commercial secured lending and development and has included both the public and private sectors.

Ian Crompton

Ian Crompton is an experienced and independent Banking and Finance Adviser specialising in the primary care sector; particularly supporting GPs.  Previously Head of HealthCare at Lloyds Bank Baking Group. Ian established the HealthCare team at Lloyds in 2004. The team grew to over 100 full time/dedicated specialist managers and lending saw double digit percentage growth for 14 consecutive years. Key to ensuring team success was introducing intensive training coupled with an ongoing CPD and revalidation programme.  A team of HealthCare Managers and Consultants supported larger transactions and GP surgery developments. In 2010 Ian established the Lloyds HealthCare Advisers Forum and the associated Primary Care Confidence Index both of which help inform Lloyds on trends and sentiment in the sector.  In 2011 Ian won the Health Investor ‘Most Influential Lender’ Award and led the submission that won the GP Awards ‘Financial Adviser of the Year’ Award for six consecutive years. Ian is also on the committee of the Primary Care Premises Forum. 

Lisa Geary

Lisa is a Partner in the real estate team and is head of real estate at Capsticks Solicitors for the Leeds office. She leads the firm’s Primary Care practice in the North of England and advises GP partnerships and Local Medical Committees (LMCs) on all aspects of their property requirements. She has extensive experience of primary care matters including advising on sale and leasebacks, leases and the property aspects of GP practice mergers, while also advising on site developments, strategic estate rationalisation, property portfolio management and related planning and environmental matters. Lisa is an active member of the firm’s corporate social responsibility initiatives and leads on the firm’s involvement with the Ahead Partnership and Leeds Law School Student Mentor Scheme.

Jim Hart

Jim is a cofounder and director of West Hart Partnership ltd, an Architect’s Practice specialising in the design of Primary Care Centres. With over 25 years’ experience in the sector,  Jim has a breadth of knowledge and a reputation for innovation in Primary Care design.

 

 

Patrick Lowther

Patrick Lowther joined Assura in 20017 as Head of Investment, and more recently has moved into a wider role as Head of Strategic Projects.  Before joining Assura in 2017 Patrick’s background was in building and managing a number of successful UK balanced commercial funds both at ING Real Estate and then Savills Investment Management. Assura plc is a specialist REIT with a portfolio in excess of £2 billion across 576 assets. Assura’s business is focused in the primary care sector – investing, developing, and managing high quality medical centres and other important health infrastructure. 

Dr Nigel Watson

Nigel was appointed as the Independent Chair of the GP Partnership Review in June 2018 by the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, supported by GPC, RCGP, NHS England and DHSC.  The review is considering the GP Partnership and following the review will make recommendations on how to revitalize the model and ensure it is fit for purpose for the future. Nigel is the Chief Executive of Wessex Local Medical Committees which represents over 3,000 GPs working in 500 practices in Dorset, Hampshire and IoW, Bath & North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire and supports the GPs working in the Channel Islands.

Steve West

Steve is a cofounder and director of West Hart Partnership Ltd. Steve is able contribute to all aspects of Healthcare Architecture and procurement, drawing from his 28 years’ experience within the sector.
