James heads the City and City Fringe investment and development team at Allsop with over 20 years’ experience in this sector.

He heads one of the most active teams in the London market having traded 0ver £900,000,000 over the past 18 months.

The main focus of James’ work has been higher risk turnaround projects for private equity ranging in lot sizes from £2 million to over £400M. James and his team have most recently acted on the purchase of the Inmarsat building at 99 City Road on behalf of Endurance Land and Nan Fung for £150M which is potentially to be redeveloped in 2024 on lease break, the £190M purchase of 10 year income at 5 Fleet Place for the Hong Kong based Manhattan Garments with our Asia Alliance partners and the sale of 4 significant development schemes which will shortly be delivering over 650,000 sq ft of new office, hotel and ancillary accommodation.

James’s team specialises in trading more complicated assets, trading the first WeWork building in the City at 33 Queen Street to a German Fund, the Epworth in Shoreditch which was majority let to IWG (Regus) which was the first time that their covenant had been traded for over 5 years and The Relay in Whitechapel which comprised 100,000 sq ft below 300 flats and a third let to a serviced office company.

Most recently James has sold a £60m medium term office refurbishment and development scheme for ABRDN in Aldgate and forward purchased a 85,000 sq ft new build sustainable office scheme for Land Sec at The Oval.
