David Bauer

System Architect, Digital Asset Management System

Western Governors University

David is a Software Engineer with Western Governors University (WGU) filling the role of Technical Lead and Architect for the WGU DAMS.  He has 20 years of experience in software development supporting a myriad of domains, with past clients and employers including, in part, the National Cancer Institute (NCI), the US Courts, Raytheon Missile Systems, PayPal, and eBay.  His first exposure to digital asset management was at the NCI Center for Bioinformatics, where he was an architect and engineer for the National Cancer Imaging Archive (NCIA). 

David specializes in storing, analyzing, and distributing large datasets, API development and systems automation.  He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in engineering and computer science from Brigham Young University and Johns Hopkins University.
