The Art and Practice of Managing Digital Media

Marla Watson

Senior Operations Manager, Digital Asset Management

Marla has worked as an archivist and digital asset management professional for more than fifteen years working at companies such as Airbnb, Zillow Group, Headspace, Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, Revolt TV, TMZ, Smithsonian Institute Traveling Exhibitions, DreamWorks SKG and UCLA Film & Television Archive. Over that time, her close working relationship with technology, creative talent, production companies, museums, archives and libraries has given her a fluent understanding of the database development, data governance, cataloging, metadata creation and content management practices for both digital and physical assets.

Marla is responsible for developing digital content workflows, leading system integrations and taxonomy creation, as well as creating and implementing guidelines for tracking and storing assets across businesses.

Before attending a HS DAM event, I never knew the true impact or importance of DAM. For the first time it felt like I wasn't alone, but part of something so much greater. I left inspired and motivated to take what I had learned and apply it our DAM system. I look forward to the event every year!

The Henry Stewart DAM NY conference did not disappoint. The breadth of topics and experiences covered were amazing.  I could have used three of me to cover all the sessions I was interested in attending!
