Thomas McMillan

Thomas has always had a strong affinity with the natural environment and as an inquisitive individual he has been drawn towards complex low carbon projects which require deep strategic thinking. In recent years he has been focusing on the challenge of decarbonising heat and electricity.  As the Head of Energy Consulting at Savills he has a unique opportunity to shape the property sector and its relationship with energy infrastructure by pulling on the extensive surveying expertise that exists within Savills, while combining this with a vast network of sustainability and energy specialists and his own personal knowledge that he has developed over the last 20 years. Low carbon technologies are often seen as complicated and/or expensive options for development sites. Thomas prides himself on challenging the status quo and arousing discussion within a client’s team on the choices that are available and applies fact based information to set out how both new technologies and alternative business structures can add value to both existing assets and new development sites.
