James joined Avison Young as UK Economist and Insight Director in 2021. He authors regular economic reports, including The Week Ahead (a blog covering economic news) and the Economic and Property Market Review, which analyses real estate market trends in the light of recent economic data.

James also works on special reports and forecasting projects, and is a regular contributor of articles to Property Chronicle magazine. He is a member of the editorial board of Corporate Real Estate Journal.

He has worked as an economist and research analyst since 1994, and has wide ranging experience of the main real estate sectors.
