Keith Murray

Director

Keith Murray Consultants Ltd

Keith started his career with the District Valuers Office, more years ago than he cares to mention, where he dealt with all aspects of compulsory purchase and compensation advice; advising only local authorities and government departments. On leaving the DVO he was a partner with Edwin Hill in charge of the Specialist Services Department responsible for advising largely claimant clients on such matters until 2000 when he set up in practice on his own account; continuing to specialise in compulsory purchase and compensation but advising both claimants and acquiring authorities. Keith is a past chair of the Compulsory Purchase Association and remains on the Committee thereof. He has been an advocate for compensation law reform for many years and with other committee members he provided input into the recent reforms now in law including latterly the Housing and Planning Act 2016 and the Neighbourhood and Planning Act 2017. He was also a member of the RICS working group that produced the recent RICS Professional Statement ‘Surveyors advising on compulsory purchase and statutory compensation’.
