Helen Smith, Faculty Head of Coaching and Mentoring for Business and Law, Department of People and Performance, Manchester Metropolitan University will take us on a journey of how a new coaching pilot was put in place to enrich students and their employability success. This session will share insights gained from the provision of a mixed mode of teaching designed to support the career progression of final year business study students with intensive 1:1 and 1:4, including good practise on:
- Investigating how to support students’ employability
- Using a framework to assess student success factors
- Transferring and adopting professional coaching insights into the HEI environment – possibilities and challenges
- Preparing students to be supported
- Encouraging student participation and engagement
