How Crisis Leadership Creates Opportunities for University Teaching Establishments Now and in the Future

May 20, 1.30 PM EDT

When the University of Central Arkansas Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE), led by a faculty member with a crisis communications background, pivoted over 500 full-time faculty to fully online instruction in a matter of days in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CTE found itself at the centre of the University's instructional crisis response.

After providing immediate training and support, the CTE team turned their attention to creating long-term online resources and instructional videos and leading teams of faculty and staff in creating resources for a variety of Fall 2020 instructional models.

Dr Amy Hawkins, Assistant Provost of Teaching and Academic Leadership, Associate Professor of Public Relations, School of Communication, University of Central Arkansas will introduce the resources developed and share how this crisis put the Center in the University's spotlight and increased its reach and influence far into the future.
