Evans is an expert on emerging technologies and the Internet of Things (IoT) with a passion for robotics and other intelligent devices. A lifelong technology enthusiast, Evans holds numerous patents in the fields of connected car, RFID, virtual people, mobile phone technology and more. He was the co-founder and CTO at Silicon Valley-based IoT startup Stringify. During his 24-year tenure at Cisco, he held the title of Chief Futurist where he looked at emerging technologies as a competitive advantage examining how the strategic application of technology fundamentally changes business models. In 2004, Evans wrote his first paper identifying the massive opportunities and application that the Internet of Everything (IoE) would bring to this world. He has been focused on that vision his entire career.

His visionary acumen has garnered global attention on topics such as IoE and The Net Effect, where he evangelizes IoE’s transformational impact on industries and societies around the world. A prolific speaker, Evans has presented on six continents.
