Open Access Infrastructure – How Metadata can Reclaim the Narrative Around Cultural Industries

November 9, 11:00 AM EST

Curationist brings together over 14 million open access art images from museum collections all around the world – making them searchable in a single online platform. To create this platform, the team has taken an iterative approach, not only to metadata and taxonomy creation but also to community development. This was to ensure that both the database structure and the community policies best reflect the needs of the user base and the broader Open GLAM fields.

Collaborative working with all stakeholders is paramount when building an open access infrastructure project like no other.

Join this session to learn more about the vital role digital asset management plays in creating a platform with multiple functionalities that has many, many users.

What others say

HS DAM events are fantastic as they provide an opportunity to learn more about all things DAM. It is also a great place to meet others in the field.

Guideposts

I have over 10 years of experiences as a DAM, and  I am always looking forward to the Festival of DAM or any other event organized by Henry Stewart. The conferences are always presented by experts of the matter. Anyone interested in DAM should attend.

HS DAM events never let me down. I always come away with new information or perspectives that hadn’t occurred to me, which, add to my knowledge base and enhance what I am able to contribute in my role at L’Oreal.
