Managing Assets One Day at a Time at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture

We’ll hear from Judith Andrews, Digital Asset Manager in the Office of Curatorial Affairs at the NMAAHC on a new era of best practices for digital preservation, including managing assets and metadata of important collections.

Judith will share how she ensures that the collections at the Smithsonian are rendered accessible to all audiences - focusing on crucial processes, including:

  • Challenges of rights research and management
  • Exploring metadata standardization and management
  • Ensuring asset delivery – both internal and external
  • Collections information management on a daily basis, DAM processes/automation and human intervention in automation
  • Working collaboratively across teams
