DAM in a Changing Media Landscape

September 1, 12.45 PM

Building a DAM with scalability in mind is essential if the system is to be robust and endure.

National Geographic went through a major ownership change, from FOX to Disney in March 2019. Our DAM had to match the requirements of the new parent company. A seamless transition was the objective. On ‘Day One’ access for new colleagues and removal of access from former colleagues was required and delivered.

We discuss the challenges faced and the capabilities that ensured success.

  • Efficient workflow tools to handle talent approvals
  • Robust metadata entry, and image review for global distribution - major factors in ensuring assets are protected as they are distributed for promotion of our television programs, magazine and books
