The Art and Practice of Managing Digital Media

Amy Taylor

DAMS Project Officer and Picture Library Manager

Ashmolean Museum, University of Oxford

Having worked in the cultural heritage image industry for over 10 years, Amy is a highly experienced, motivated and adaptable Digital Asset Manager, with expertise in image and metadata standards, visual IP and copyright law, marketing and licensing digital content, project management, user experience, supplier relations, contract negotiation and digital preservation. She is currently Senior User for the Ashmolean’s new DAM system, and for their online image licensing platform - which are both part of the University’s digital transformation programme for the Gardens, Libraries and Museums (GLAM) Division. She also manages the Ashmolean’s Picture Library team, protecting and enhancing the museum’s image licensing income stream as part of the commercial department.

Amy’s educational background in Modern History and English Literature (BA, Oxon.), with a specialism in Late Medievalism (MA, Medieval Studies) has led to a passion for Oxford’s cultural heritage, and she has also previously worked for the University of Oxford’s Bodleian Libraries and its History of Science Museum.
