Associate Archivist for Digital Assets

Boston Symphony Orchestra

Sarah Funke Donovan is the Associate Archivist for Digital Assets at the Boston Symphony Orchestra. After obtaining undergraduate and graduate degrees in music, she pursued a degree in library science at Simmons University’s Graduate School of Library and Information Science. Upon graduation from Simmons in May 2012, Sarah was hired by the BSO's Senior Archivist, Bridget Carr, to complete an NEH-funded project to digitize and present BSO program books online. After managing additional grant-funded digitization projects, in January 2017, Sarah transitioned to her current role in order to implement the organization's first digital asset management system. Working with the organization’s 128 DAM users (and counting), Sarah has established workflows and procedures to ensure the system meets a performing arts organization’s unique needs.
