Protecting the Past, Future Proofing Archives and Reaching New Audiences with DAM Technology

February 10, 4.00 PM

Digital asset management (DAM) technology has given AMOT (Army Museums Ogilby Trust) the opportunity to reach a new audience by digitizing a collection of 2.4 million assets from the first world war, which has never been seen before. Not only does the GLAM (galleries, libraries, archives and museums) industry need to be agile in the way they harness technology to future-proof iconic artifacts of history, but this year has shown that museums need to offer virtual access to collections to reach new and existing audiences.

This session covers:

  • How to implement an effective DAM solution to reach new audiences and providing an opportunity for diverse content to be utilized for educational purposes
  • Understanding the challenges of a DAM project and the importance of adaptation with organizations
  • Why it is important for the GLAM industry to be taking these steps to protect the past

What others say

HS DAM events wrangle an incredible amount of information into clear, managed presentations - facilitating one of the best virtual events I've been in. I continue to learn something new each and every session.

HS DAM events has set the bar for virtual conferences! Live sessions, engaging polls and questions boxes, chats with attendees, and virtual contests for swag...I don't know how a virtual conference could be more awesome! I look forward to this conference every year and the team at HS never disappoints!
