Christina Gibbs

Digital Strategist and Data Consultant

Christina Gibbs, an accomplished independent consultant, embarked on her consulting journey in early 2021 following fifteen years at the Detroit Institute of Arts, where she primarily served as the Collections Database Manager. Christina's consulting career began with a pivotal project at a Smithsonian museum, where she engaged in an intricate digital asset management and collections information project.

Her expertise centers around data and digital asset management (DAM), seamlessly integrating systems, and advocating for accessibility solutions for individuals with disabilities within the technology domain. Collaborating extensively, Christina partners on projects with cultural heritage organizations, museums, private sector companies and software and technology providers.

Her expertise lies in data and digital asset management (DAM), seamless systems integration, and advocating for accessibility solutions for individuals with disabilities. Christina's collaborative reach extends to partnerships with cultural heritage organizations, museums, private sector enterprises, as well as software and technology providers.

What sets Christina apart is her deep versatility - effortlessly transitioning from a day spent coding or designing system integrations to strategic projects in digital transformation and organization preparedness in implementing change and new technology. This end-to-end thinking drives transformative applications of data and technology, elevating organizations to new heights of functionality and leaving a measurable impact.

Christina created and teaches, ‘Technical Considerations in Content Ecosystems’ course for the Rutgers University School of Communications and Information Sciences. She also fulfills the role of Teaching Assistant for the 'DAM for GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums)' course.

A certified workshop facilitator in the DAM Capability Model, Christina's expertise has been sought by institutions including the Royal Ontario Museum, Museums and the Web, The Ringling Museum, and private sector entities. Based in Detroit, Michigan, Christina continues to make her mark at the intersection of technology, data management, and cultural heritage.
