Operationalizing a Business Framework for a Maturing Design Org

November 17, 2:30PM PST

The Speakers

One is a journeyman designer, recovering engineer and pragmatic operations thinker. The other is a newly minted (graduated) data scientist exploring the DesignOps world.  Like any good collaboration, they have different perspectives and approaches to amplifying their team’s value and impact.

The Context

Developing a program that quantitatively expresses the impact of design in a world of shifting OKRs, returning to offices, evolving corporate strategy and emerging AI can stress out any organization.  This forward-thinking duo have been working towards presenting the work of their talented researchers and other design-adjacent departments in a standard business format. The result is a scorecard that communicates the degree to which they are building experiences that exceed the customer's expectations.

The Goal

To share the story of why they used this method. To explain the impact they sought and the implementation they are using to change the story of their value to the organization. To speak natively to company executives, and demonstrate the role of Design Operations in launching and managing such an effort.

What others say

The Design Operations New York 2023 conference was so rewarding! As a DesignOps "team of 1" practitioner, the opportunity to be among other humans who are in the field was so fulfilling. Also, what I learned in those 8 hours is immeasurable.
