Mary Vrljic is a digital asset and metadata specialist with over twenty years’ experience across photography, production, and digital content management. As Digital Asset Coordinator at the Powerhouse Museum, she leads the ongoing development of a user-centred digital archive that supports large-scale collection digitisation and long-term preservation.

Mary’s career has bridged creative and technical domains from coordinating photographic production and metadata workflows to designing DAM frameworks that align with real-world user needs. Her previous roles include Senior Metadata Officer at the NSW Department of Education, Digital Assets Officer at Sydney Catholic Schools, Head of Library and Product at Collaboro, and Stills Manager at Foxtel.

Passionate about human-centred design and data accessibility, Mary’s work focuses on building DAMS that are not only technically sound but genuinely usable - systems that empower teams, enhance collaboration, and extend the life and value of digital collections.
