DAM Sydney 2024

Joe completed an MLIS degree from Emporia State University in 2021 and, after that remote learning experience, began his DAM adventure at the Simplot World Headquarters in Boise, Idaho. He currently lives in the Pacific Northwest of the United States, working from his living room and various coffee shops as an asset wrangler and Food Librarian; cataloging assets, managing requests, and learning all the regional names for fries. 

Originally trained as an archivist, Joe brings a passion for digital preservation to DAM work. Also, a language aficionado, he translates old Latin textbooks in his spare time and tries to understand the mechanics of each new language he encounters.

The J.R. Simplot Company is a major producer of McDonald’s French fries and many household food brands in Australia, like Chiko, Birds Eye, Edgell, John West, and Leggo’s. Joe is excited to meet people who encounter the real-life products he sees every day as assets in the Simplot DAM.
