For performing arts organizations, to be adapt at ‘the pivot’ is key to survival. Reaching audiences with new media strategies was essentially during the pandemic.
Remembering what we learned and enhancing our ability to pivot are vital ingredients for sustained, future success.
The Los Angeles Philharmonic (LA Phil) produced new recorded concerts and prioritized free access to content ‘when the world stayed home’. What the LA Phil learned was that a refreshed digital media strategy – bringing the stage to the screen – was necessary – it is now the norm.
The results paid off. New cameras and capture systems are now being installed at every venue. The media in their DAMS never stops growing. And to manage the multiple media projects, the LA Phil has a new MAM system - being built with the existing DAMS.
To pivot and to be agile have been the big lessons for the organization. In this session, we’ll hear from Meredith Reese, Senior DAM and Information Technology Manager, LA Phil, on her first-hand experience of:
Meredith will share both the challenges of managing such a big change and what’s next on the LA Phil’s DAM roadmap.
Before attending a HS DAM event, I never knew the true impact or importance of DAM. For the first time it felt like I wasn't alone, but part of something so much greater. I left inspired and motivated to take what I had learned and apply it our DAM system. I look forward to the event every year!
I have over 10 years of experiences as a DAM, and I am always looking forward to the Festival of DAM or any other event organized by Henry Stewart. The conferences are always presented by experts of the matter. Anyone interested in DAM should attend.
HS DAM provided a network of like-minded passionate professionals that were so generous & honest with their front line experiences of working and creating in the DAM universe, Bravo.
