The Art and Practice of Managing Digital Media

Caroline C. Helms Gerbøll

DAM Manager

Arla Foods amba

Caroline is a Copenhagen (DK) based one-woman-DAM-army at Arla Foods amba. Through her 22 years with the company, Caroline has always been involved in asset-handling on top of her Product Manager and Marketing roles. In 2020 a full-time position as DAM Manager was posted (finally!!!), and it didn’t take many considerations to drop PM and jump headfirst into the new role.

Caroline’s first task was to build the taxonomy from scratch, secure a massive back-catalogue of asset from various repositories, train all the users, onboard markets around the world and then there is the never-ending clean-up of assets.

Today Caroline is part of a combined DAM and PIM team, supporting the markets already on PIM and playing a big part in the roll-out plans for new PIM markets. No assets are left behind when closing old repositories – and all new users are trained and supported before PIM go-lives.

The daily work with more than 5,000 users and close to 100,000 active assets keeps her busy – and she loves it!
