Aligning a Museum’s Digital Strategy with its Physical Transformation

February 8, 2:35 PM EST

Exploring, Engaging, and Empowering for a Better Tomorrow

Listen to the major transformation project undertaken at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History – how it started, where the project is now, and what’s left to complete, focusing key analysis on:

  • The efforts to transform the digital strategy alongside the campus to include collections’ digitization, an expansion and reimagining of our educational content, and an institution-wide initiative to make sure the digital assets are managed and discoverable.
  • 3D initiative – expanding the virtual options while launching a 3D scanning program for over five million objects.
  • Grant funding to digitize and preserve the Non-Human Primate, Vertebrate Paleontology, Invertebrate Paleontology, and Paleobotany collections.
  • The future: bringing collections and media online to extend the reach of the museum to a global audience; expand the exhibits through digital media to deepen the experience and understanding of the real-world exhibits.

What others say

HS DAM events provide me with a welcome opportunity to learn from colleagues, make new connections, and reflect on what I can do to improve my institution's DAM environment.

Gwendolyn Saul
New York State Museum

HS DAM events provided a very affordable (free) and easy way to learn more about DAMs and connect with peers in the field.

Pat Seymour
The Andy Warhol Museum

This event was informative and engaging. It covered technical aspects of DAM in an accessible manner. The Q&A sections were well moderated, and I am very pleased I made time for attending.
