Leslie joined the White House Historical Association in 2015 as a metadata librarian. Among her first responsibilities was developing the metadata schema that would become the Digital Library when in launched in March 2016. She was named the director of the Digital Library in 2019.

As director, Leslie oversees the Digital Library, developing policies and procedures for the DAM’s maintenance. This includes reevaluation of the metadata schema, the consistency of controlled vocabulary used across the Digital Library, the development and implementation of new workflows in the DAM, upholding digital preservation standards, and integration of new projects into the Digital Library.
