Cookie Marie Kurtz

Director, Creative Services

Albert Einstein College of Medicine

Marie “Cookie” Kurtz is the director of creative services at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She came to Einstein as an events consultant in 2007, for the office of communications and public affairs. She coordinated creative services for the inaugural event for the first women to be elected Chair of the Board of Overseers for the College of Medicine, Ruth Gottesman Ed.D. Cookie was then hired as a staff member in the department’s Creative Services.

“Cookie” has since reimagined what was known as the “graphic arts center” into a full-service creative service agency for the college of medicine. As Director, she identifies opportunities for effective branding and communications. Her small but mighty team offers award-winning design, branding, marketing, and print solutions to the academic community and Montefiore Medical Center programs and centers. She’s established new processes, introduced digital asset and project management technology, and reinvented the capabilities of her in-house talent to improve the team’s effectiveness. She continually strives to deliver excellence in service and innovation.

A graduate of St. Joseph’s College in Brooklyn, Cookie also brings her creative talents as a volunteer for NY Cares, Pink on Purpose a campaign of the American Institute for Cancer Research and St. Luke Church, Whitestone. Cookie is the vice president of the nonprofit Angels on the Bay, serving chronically ill and developmentally challenged children.
