Julia heads up the global brands team for the Factual Portfolio at BBC Studios. She is responsible for the multi-platform growth of one of BBC’s key genres and fastest growing fan base. Most recently she has led the global launches for Blue Planet II, Dynasties, The Planets and Seven Worlds: One Planet. Julia is passionate about the natural world and the wonders of our planet, and the focus on meaningful engagement with every part of the globe about a subject that touches each and every one of us.
Julia has been at BBC Studios (previously BBC Worldwide) since 2008 when she joined as the Head of Brand Strategy in the Central Marketing team, helping the company to build its corporate brand directly with consumers around the world. In 2010 she became Marketing Director for BBC Worldwide’s global brands overseeing the company’s biggest properties, including BBC Earth, Top Gear, Doctor Who, Sherlock and Dancing with the Stars. Since then she has worked across all aspects of BBC Studios’ global franchise and content portfolio, including the development and production of 3 major theatrical films, and six months as Acting CMO.
Prior to working for BBC Worldwide, Julia has worked with brands and consumers in all regions of the globe, including a 3 year residence in Chicago US. She has over twenty years’ experience in major global advertising agencies including Ammirati Puris Lintas and JWT, working with an extensive list of world-leading clients in multiple industry sectors including Unilever, Kraft and Vodafone.
