Mike Kevan is a creative leader, narrative strategist, and probably the only Head of Design in the Southern Hemisphere who named his son after Columbo.

Currently leading Spark NZ’s in-house design function, Mike has quietly built a team that saves the business millions each year—not by shouting louder, but by telling better stories. His work lives at the intersection of soft skills and hard realities: empathy, influence, organisational politics, and the emotional labour of leadership.

He’s passionate about making creative work, and creative people feel seen, safe, and strategically irreplaceable.
