Company: Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences

Position: Digital Archivist, Margaret Herrick Library

As Digital Archivist at the Margaret Herrick Library, Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Jane is charged with managing the Academy’s DAM, which contains tens of thousands of rare film stills and portraits, film posters, and drawings, as well as photographs documenting the first Academy Award ceremony in 1927 to the present. Jane is an active contributor to the Archives and Digital Asset Management communities and is a founding member of the DAM Foundation, where she currently chairs the membership committee. Jane’s pathway to digital asset management grew out twenty + years as a writer and producer for a variety of consumer magazines, educational television programs, electronic books and interactive games, where she was responsible for maintaining functional specifications and managing production elements. Jane has an MLIS from San Jose State University and completed the Instructional Technology track at Columbia University, New York.
